Mayfly seem to have slowed down tonight due to the weather conditions but still plenty of BWO and yellow may dunns coming off to keep the trout looking up.

Warm, overcast, rainy, and a slight breeze gave us pretty good conditions. Water was low and clear, and coloured slightly as the day went on. Fish were caught throughout the beat, with abundant fly-life bringing an opportunity for some terrific sport using dries. Most fish were between 1 and 1.5 lbs, and all were safely returned. A particularly productive day for us - we don't usually fish from 08:30 until 21:30. A great day out, on a wonderful stretch of River.

A blank day, and a wet one! This beat seems to me best for dry-fly fishing in terms of the water, but inaccessible for bank fishing. Therefore only fishable where shallow enough to wade. There were lots of rising fish in the deep water, but unreachable as far as I could see!

Weather great between 5 and 7pm with cold wind and rain after. I landed 4 very good trout on goldhead haresear, to 4.5 lb total, 3 on woodstrem run and one, the largest at 1.75lb at end of chine pool. John had 2 trout on a sunken olive pattern each half pound and lost two others of similar size.
Brilliant evening's fishing
