A bad day weather wise with strong sunshine and little flow. Just had he one Chub out of the blue. To be honest i can't really recommend the place as there are not many swims at all and with low water landing a fish is almost impossible. The downstream half is jungle with impossible steep overgrown banks and contains a maximum of two swims. The upstream half is no better although i must admit i never walked it all. To be honest, I feel that I should ask for my money back! I'm not after a commercial fishery, and appreciate a wild feel, but feel that absolutely nothing is being done to enhance the fishery in any way. I won't be coming back or recommend the place.

The water was very low and we didn't see any fish moving along the whole beat. Needless to say that we blanked. Sorry to say, but I think that this beat should have a 'too low' policy as well as a 'wash off' policy unless I am missing something.

Unable to fish my swims due to anglers on the far bank casting to my feet, experienced difficulty finding a swim that was not being fished by other anglers. The farmer was very kind and allowed me vehicular access to the beat which was utterly stunning, with shallow streamy sections and deep pools which promised much. The beat is teaming with wildlife especially Kingfishers and Buzzards which provided ample amusement. Unfortunately not all anglers observe the courtesies of the sport. Will not be returning to this beat again. One fish lost at dusk, conditions very tough (low water, hot and sunny).

Fished the Courtfield section today. Weather was warm and sunny good day 4 barbel caught all around the 5lb mark and one chub around 4lb. Standard feeder tactics used and moved swims regular throughout the day. It is worth mentioning that the stretch is very overgrown especially the "meadow" which resembles more of a jungle. swims can be difficult to access. The wood section is very snaggy as described on other posts.
