Largest Barbel pushing a double, fished the middle of the day never saw a canoe! Never saw another person ,absolute bliss

River low and slow, no fish showing during the day except chub feeding in the margins

Fished from 7pm till 10pm not a lot of action but managed to catch a nice brownie on a mayfly nimph of all things

Fished below the steps from 3pm to 6.30pm, caught 1 Barbel 6lb 3oz, 1 Chubb 3lb 14oz and an eel. Once again conditions were hot and the weed pretty heavy, but a very enjoyable afternoon. All fish were caught using a feeder and pellet. Thanks Wye and Usk.

Another hot and sunny day. We started fishing at 3pm, my mate trying trotting in fast water downstream with sweet corn for the very first time - he caught a small barbel about 1 lbs and a roach. We then settled into two shady swims with gullies and deeper water in front. Some barbel action straight away then a lull for several hours. A frantic last couple of hours with barbel coming one after the other with most fish around 7 to 8 1/2 lbs. What a great day!

Lovely days fishing, all fish caught on the French leader bar one trout caught on drys.

Chose this venue as I knew I could wade out and float fish. Had 10 chub from 1-3 lb but no barbel, great fun on the float though, alternating sweet corn and pellet, it's also much easier to do with the canoes coming through and had some good banter with all of them. Finished in the lower pool on the feeder for 3 barbel, 2 around 2 lb a 1 around 4, no problem with any going back.

Beautiful spot. Fished the bottom croy in Thomas Wood and enjoyed my day in the shade. The only place with a bit of flow and always looked likely but not a touch.
