River slow, most fish caught later in the day

2 Barbel, 5 Chub, 1 Other

2 x grayling 8 - 14 inches, 2 x out of season trout 12-14 inches, Pink Shrimp, Tungsten Hare's Ear and Grey Duster. Like summer again today with 20 degrees temperature, blue sky and bright sun. Fishing interesting, but quite tough with water very low and clear. Prolific growth of weed this year in the open sections. A couple of rising fish mid-afternoon.

Nil return. water low and plenty of leaves.

Arrived at 3 pm and fished until dusk, all fish caught after sundown!

Difficult fishing for sure hower it all came good in the end.

Lovely sunny day with minimal canoe traffic. Annoyed as I forgot my scales never done that before.
Managed three barbel best one between 10 - 11lb but nearer 11lb I’m sure, had a few 10’s from hear and this was bigger and gave a fantastic brawl.

1 grilse safely returned in the morning for Greg Tustin. Water condition and height good on what was more like summer day around 20 degrees in October!
