Had the best days fishing ever on our beloved river Wye. Arrived early and a bit of colour in the water, fish fed all day catching around 12 chub to around 4lb and several Barbel to around 9lb. It was a great day and we can't wait to go back. Only think to note bank access is a little more challenging but this all ads to the adventure. Thanks again WAF.

A great day, river was high and difficult to fish. Never the less chub caught throughout the day and one very large eel. We had a little problem when we arrived about eleven as there was someone else fishing. He quickly packed up as he knew he was not meant to be there. When he was challenged he claimed he thought it was day ticket money collected on the bank. I noticed that the sign had been pulled off the post on the far side of the bank. I would like to compliment the farmer for the efforts he has made to allow access to the water for the anglers. All fish and eel were caught on luncheon meat.

Good flow, sunshine & showers, 1 8" trout & 5 grayling largest 14" mostly to downstream wets swung in the faster water in Abernant stream, one on a nymph under a EHC later in the day. Saw a couple of fish rising late on by Stone Catch flats. One other angler after salmon on the lower half.

Early start, easy to find beat. Overcast and windy with the odd heavy shower. Walked the beat before starting to fish as first time at Abercynrig. Good easy wading, reasonable flow with a bit of colour, no signs of any fish or life coming off the water. Short visit but managed 3 good browns around 2lb on the duo before leaving just after lunch. Will definitely visit again.

Very wet and windy resulting in diddly squat!

River was slightly high and coloured, fished very well in the morning but slowed in the afternoon.

12 Barbel, 1 Chub

I had a fantastic day, caught lots of lovely brownies on a GRHE nymph between 4"-11" all released safely. It is extremely slippery to wade, I slipped and fell in and it wasn't pleasant to fish the whole day with my left side of the body wet. I would have avoided the wet situation if only I had the zip closed on my wading jacket. I would advise to wade with studded boot and wading staff. The weather wasn't great but the number of fish caught compensated it. I couldn't cover all the beat; 2 days fishing would be ideal if anyone wants to explore and fish this beat. I would definitely come back and fish this beat again.
