Arrived early to this lovely beat, I fished it last year but failed to catch, so was determined to get one out. The river had a bit of colour but was low. After the long walk I fished on the croy swim using feeder and pellets tactics and instantly had bites: first out was a 2lb chub then followed by a 6lb 12oz barbel. It then went quiet for few hours then 3 more chub around 2 to 3 lbs and another barbel at around 5lb, then went quiet again before my last fish a nice 4lb chub. All in all a good day on the Wye.

Tough conditions for opening day, river low and clear, weather bright and sunny.
Fishing was slow but we managed two barbel of about 7lb and 8lb and four chub of about 3lb from one of our favourite wood swims. Fish were in great condition as always. Great beat, back in a couple of weeks.

Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)

Whilst the rest of the country was basking in hot sunshine Bugeilyn did not disappoint----overcast with a brisk and chilly westerly wind we needed coats! However the fish obliged and we actually landed 28 hard fighting trout between us and must have missed at least as many. Most took on or near the surface--black Pennell, silver Invicta, peter ross ,coch y bondhu. seemed to work. Fun day in glorious surroundings

Beat:Penpont

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

Warm, overcast, light breeze, sporadic light hatches. No excuse really is there. However the Penpont trout had other ideas. Not many rising unfortunately. Three fish up to a pound that were hard won. Had to wait til 8pm for two of them on BWO. Daytime fish on parachute Adams. Hard work but very enjoyable.
