No fish caught this time but seems like a varied beat with lots of potential. Definitely one on the list for a return visit next season!

First time on this beat and really enjoyed it. Parked by the church and fished from the bottom of the beat to about half way up. Picked off individual fish here and there but didn’t locate any concentrations of grayling.
Fished Czech nymph style with red tag and PTN. Best fish were trout and grayling of 15 inches with others from 8 inches upwards. I didn’t keep precise count but also caught at least 25 immature grayling and parr, a nuisance at times but great to know the river is so healthy.

As others have noted, the bedrock was treacherous, even with felt soles and wading staff. Also, access in and out of the river was not always easy.

River conditions - low, with little flow. No activity during the day but things improved as the evening wore on. PB barbel at 9lb 8oz on pellet fished into the flow.

River low and clear. Fished on concrete swims, with feeder tactics, a very poor days fishing.

One fish lost and a few taps.

River level not ideal but tried with various small flies - couple of bites but nevertheless had a great day in beautiful surroundings..

Cold morning made for tricky conditions. Managed a single brownie of about six inches in length - saw a few rises but couldn't tempt any to take.

Lovely day to be on the bank, weather was just too nice though. Fished from 11am till dusk due to long journey and early start for work the next day. 2 barbel were both 6lb and the cub varied from 1lb up to 5lb 2oz. I also had another good chub of 4lb 8oz. Very pleased with the chub catches as I have found them to be in short supply on a lot of the beats. Bit disappointed in the barbel but I guess they didn't like the bright sunshine. Cannot wait to come back next season!
