River in excellent condition with ideal water levels and plenty of fly life. Although very windy it was reasonably sheltered down on the water. This is now an all day beat with the two beats combined. Well worth the effort of visiting the lower stretches. Fished dry and duo taking fish on the nymph and the dry. Two from the bottom stretch of the beat and two from the pool above the weir. Lost one other and missed several quick rises. Had a close encounter with a large eel over 2' long just below the aquaduct. A very enjoyable day. many thanks to WUF.

A great day with the river coloured again. This beat is perfect with easy access and with plenty of room. Once you find the spots the fish will come and we had barbel to 9:14 a pb for my son. Cannot wait to get back!

Upper reaches - no sign of any fish upstream of footbridge. Below - lots rising to dries, mainly small. No fish caught, but had a number of takes from smallish fish and one slightly larger. Mainly taking dries and some pheasant tail nymph.

First time on this stretch and it was pushing through following the earlier rain and very coloured. We wandered the stretch trying to locate some fish, but to now avail. Loved the stretch and will return at some stage.

A tough day. River was very high and half a forest was washing down it. Most spots were inaccessible and was only able to fish in the margins out of any flow at all. First 6 hours were fruitless but around 1 pm a small knock resulted in the water erupting more than it already was. A fantastic fight ended in a perfectly conditioned exact 9lb Barbel - a Wye PB. No further knocks or runs until 6pm when managed a 4lb chub. Not seen the river this high before - it certainly changes quickly, as through the course of the day it had dropped over 2ft

Had an excellent day at this gem of a lake, was a fairly strong wind when I turned up about midday, with intermittent rain, fished the roadside shore, in two various locations, and managed to catch two cracking brownies, both about twelve inches in length. One took my home tied clan chief variant, the other my Bibio variant, good solid takes, and superb fish, both released back into the lake. Did have a few nervous plucks on the flies in the latter part of the day, but due to the incoming heavy rain, called it a day about sevenish. Superb location, shall be back very soon, hoping that we get some kind of a summer, and I can fish some dry fly patterns.

Unfortunately the amount of rain from the day before made the river unfishable. The beat does look good, but with an 18 inch rise in the river over a short time period there was no way even to spin
