First time we have fished this beat and had a really enjoyable day. Fish taken on clink/dink and a dry Adams and were sporadically rising to Brook Duns and Olives. Another good fish hooked and lost and various other missed takes. Departed mid afternoon due to increasingly wet and windy weather. Will certainly be planning a return visit.

Unfavourable conditions (weather – windy and showers, river – low and cold, no rising fish, fly life limited) made for a challenging day notwithstanding some of the wading however we made the most of the fabulous surroundings and the varied pools. We will be back. No catch to report.

Fished this beat 2 weeks ago upstream of whats left of the bridge so decided to fish from the bottom of the beat up to the bridge this time, not much in the way of rising fish so i fished a small bead head nymph tied on a barbless jig hook underneath a klinkhammer. This resulted in 14 trout up to 10 inches and 1 Grayling that looked well over the pound all on the nymph, I must have missed all lost as many, fantastic sport on my new 6ft fibreglass rod. There is plenty of water to fish and quite a few deep pools. There were a couple of tree that had fallen across the river but i did not have much of a problem getting around them.
14 Trout, 1 Grayling

No catch to report. It was a bit cold, so the fish weren't 'on'.
