Lots of granom flying although very little hatching, think they came off the day before.
A few fish rising especially in the morning to egg layers. Temperature suddenly dropped in the late afternoon, and ended the sport after a glorious hot sunny day.
Trout to about 10 inch, and a few out of season grayling, some of the larger fish looked a little worse for ware presumably after spawning.

Level at 0.68 at Ross. Nice height and plenty of fly water on this beat. Given the good weather it was also busy with walkers and a fair few canoes. My friend had a pull on the fly straight after which an estimated 20lb + salmon leapt clear of the water. I then hooked a c. 15lb salmon on a flying c only for it to thrash at the surface and throw the hook after about 15 secoinds or so. Both contacts in Slaughter crib. Only other action was a 5lb pike and a small brown trout.

Great day weather was warm and sunny. Big hatch off brown caddis all up the river, made fish feed off the surface in only the deep water. Grayling were the only fish of the day, from 8 inches to 14 inches, no trout to be seen.

Maybe not the best fishing conditions today, warm and bright, but still good to get out. 4 trout to 13" and as many lost. Continual hatch of Grannon most of the day with a few ldos and March browns, but fish reluctant to rise in bright conditions. All fish taken early on with weighted caddis pattern.
