Bright sunshine and a high wind for most of the day, so pretty tough going. We managed 3 wbt between us, all taken on nymphs and all safely returned.

Beautiful sunny day but the river was higher than I expected and higher than the Usk catchment stream. Quite clear though. No hatches or rises seen. Trout took small hare's ear goldhead. two dead lambs lying on the bottom at one point upstream of the footbridge.

Lovely spring day despite a pessimistic forecast. Sporadic shows of March Brown, LDO and the occasional Grannom. Seven brown trout to 13". All returned. It would be good to see broken gates replaced or repaired to facilitate access to fishing without risk to rod and limb. As always great to be there.

Beat:Upper Bigsweir
Fishing:Salmon
No. of Anglers:2
We fished Upper Bigsweir on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th April. Wonderful sunny skies, river too high still and coloured, but clearing. No fish seen or caught, used Flying C's. Once water drops and clears should be perfect!
