Craig Llyn is one of the most picturesque fisheries I have ever fished. The morning was quite a slow start, picking up a few out of season trout. For the most of the morning we fish the French leader with a team of 4mm jig bugs. This method helped as the river was pushing through due to the recent rain fall but surprisingly, the clarity was perfect. We even had the opportunity to se a fair few salmon moving through.
Terry Bromwell and I would like to thank Shaun, Peter and Massey for the invite. Many thanks.

This was our first visit to this stretch and we were impressed with the surroundings, as it runs beneath Goodrich Castle. It really is a beautiful section of the Wye, but sadly the fishing was difficult once again. We spent all day in 2 established swims about two thirds of the way down the beat. A very small Chub and a 4lb Barbel were the only 2 bites all day. We'll be back again next year though.........can't wait!

Just the one pike was caught approx 5lb. Think the flow was a bit strong after the rain fall on Thursday but a lovely place and will be going back.

River high and coloured - very uneventful but not unexpected. But had to get my American friend on the Wye to say that he had at least tried, though when he is back in Idaho fishing for Steelheads, I'm sure it may be a morning that he quickly over looks. Next time!

A good day on the river, sunshine, mist rising and frost in the fields when I started. Kingfishers and dippers were flying low over the water and buzzards overhead in this beautiful valley. The fishing was slow, but very rewarding and a perfect morning was completed with the landing of two very nice grayling of just over a pound each. The afternoon brought rain and a couple more fish before the gathering gloom meant it was time to return to the car and start the journey home.
