River .57 on the gauge and dropping. Wind gusting to excess of 20 mph across the river into our faces making casting very difficult indeed at times. However, we persevered and we're rewarded with one o.o.s. trout each of around a lb and a grayling each of 1 1/2 lb plus eight fingerlings shared between us. DC caught his fish on drys and GC on nymphs.
As with all rivers, given the right conditions this beautiful stretch of water would reward the angler handsomely. As always, thanks to the owner and the Wye and Usk for the opportunity to spend the day here.

First time fishing Lower Glanwye and the notes are spot on, not the best access along the bank and wading is tricky mainly on bedrock fishing into the gutters. I started in Stepping Stones and towards the tail of the pool I had a good take which resulted in a 12lb hen, which like yesterdays fish was just starting to colour. Swam off strongly. Caught on a 1 inch cascade tube. Quite a few fish showing, mainly in the pools in the middle of the beat.

Although the river level had dropped following high water levels a few days earlier, the water in front of us was very fast and we suffered with a large amount of leaves coming down and pulling the feeders out of position. We fished from 10am till 7pm but neither of us had so much as a touch all day. Usually a banker venue for us but not on this occasion sadly.

Although a stunning early autumn day there were tricky conditions - bright blue skies and a brisk upstream wind. Dropped by the evening but then a low angled October sun directly in my back and into salmo's eyes. would imagine this fishes best at around 1'9". No fish touched, caught or seen but a beautiful close to the season.

A difficult day, blazing sunshine and a stiff breeze that was a bit chilly. This is a fishery I know well, so after the previous day's sport at Foy I had high hopes of a bumper catch, however apart from one chub in the morning, absolutely nothing until 5-6 pm when the barbel started to come on the feed. The barbel were of average size i.e. 6-8 lb on feeder/pellet. The colour was dropping out of the water together with a slowly falling level and I suspect the sunshine kept the fish away till late... . But it was another great day out.
