The river was low and clear. Weather bright and breezy. Little showing and I failed to find a really consistent tactic. Three fish to hand - one to a small PTN the others to an Adams and a Klinkhammer. Best fish a plump, healthy 12". Raised, pricked and lost half a dozen more from water under overhanging branches.

Beautiful day, great stretch of water. Located fish rising in deep pool so cast dry fly. 3rd cast fish took but lost it almost immediately. Eventually retiring to the car for lunch but unfortunately watched a cormorant land right by the pool! We returned to fishing, disturbing the cormorant. No fish spotted thereafter. No signs of fish whatever, seen the rest of the day!!!

Very disappointed in the days fishing. Tried a multitude of flies in windy conditions, but not a single pull all day. Discussed with several other anglers on the reservoir all of whom stated the same. Poor days fishing.

Sunday- Craig Llyn unfortunately very coloured today. Kindly invited as guest of Sean to fish a fantastic stretch of the Elan courtesy of Richard. Another great day on a beautiful water with lovely wild brownies. Big thank you to Dave and Tom too for a great day. Look forward to seeing you again!

Last trout trip this year, very pleasant day with the Honddu running clear but not too low. Small number of varied flies about but no rises. Explored the runs mainly with an iron blue para and landed 9 trout, from 7" to 12" - all very fit! Spring seems a long way off now....
