Beautiful stretch of the river. A great day had by all of us, will be back. All the fish were between 1 and 1.5 lbs and were quite shy (made them worth catching).

Arrived late morning to find the car and ourselves in sunshine and surrounded by mayfly as we were getting ready. We made our way to the bottom of the beat and entered the stream where there were several fish showing and it didn't take long to hook and promptly lose a nice sized trout which took a cdc emerger. Whilst briefly playing the fish I noticed a lady approaching on the left bank who came to tell us that the section of the river we were in was private fishing. I explained that we had wild stream permits and maps that made clear there was no bank access at that point on the river and that was why we were both in the river channel not on the bank. She said that her husband had reported the issue of fishermen (presumably to WUF) previously as she believed that their landowner rights extended half way across the river channel and therefore we could only fish the right half of the river - she explained she was planning to come and swim down there soon (presumably only in her knee deep half!). Having disturbed the pool with the lost fish and in the interests of keeping the peace we moved on upstream as the lady settled down on the bank to make sure we didn't stray into 'her' half of the river.
Fish continued to rise to mayfly through the afternoon and several more were hooked and lost but eventually a nice fish of 12" came to the net. By 5pm the hatch was still going strong but there was little sign of fish showing, presumably stuffed after a day gorging themselves. A nice beat, tricky to access in places but with some lovely looking bits of water.

It was a very satisfying day. Very productive beat, with good hatchings, a lot of different flies. 6 nice trout caught and released (0.3-0.4 Kg). Well Recommended.

Fished mid-morning to mid-afternoon but only tempted one wbt of 6 inches. In fact I didn't see another fish all day or any rises. The fish took a small black nymph fished under an elk hair caddis. Weather was overcast and quite chilly for late May. There was a good hatch (spinners I think) in the middle of the day, but nothing rising.
This is a nice little stream for three or four hours fishing, in beautiful countryside. Despite taking a stealthy approach all day, I was disappointed not to see more fish. I guess that's fishing.

A rather cold and cloudy day with an upstream wind. This day was supposed to be for salmon fishing, but by this morning the freshet following the weekend's rain had already dwindled away and the level was back down to 1 foot. After nothing seen or touched while fishing with the double handed rod, I put a trout dry fly rod up after lunch. There were some pale wateries around along with a few true mayflies, but what the fish really wanted were the olive uprights which continued to come off in waves during the afternoon. 17 x trout 10-15 inches, 2 x out of season grayling, on Parachute Adams. Nice fat fish, making quite a contrast to the slim ones we were catching in early March. Left at 5.30 with trout still rising in places.

First time here, weather was overcast with the temperature half what it was yesterday at 11C. I walked the length of the beat which is very pretty, very peaceful and secluded but the first thing I noticed was a complete lack of insect life, however this was to change through the day as quite a number of small olives and small, pale yellow upwings started to emerge bringing the fish up with them. Although I had a few fish on a gold head nymph from the pool mid beat it was the large pool and the short stretch of river running into it where the beat starts that would provide most sport to dry flies later in the day. A challenging and very enjoyable days fishing with plenty of missed takes and lost fish, one quite big, to add to the total caught.
