2 of us fished the island peg and had 1 chub between us all day. The other 2 anglers fished opposite the pumping station on the Courtfield stretch they had 1 barbel around 4 pounds caught on pellet no other fish were caught. River was surprisingly up compared to what recent river levels were reporting and it was full of colour, running through pretty quickly. Whether this had any bearing on the fishing not sure. Don't think we will fish this beat in the future. Also be prepared for a long walk to the start of the beat from the youth hostel car park.

Arrived to find falling river after overnight rise. It was showing more colour than I have seen for a while so prospects looked good. Unfortunately, 7 hrs fishing resulted in 1 eel & little else. Love this stretch & will return soon.

We hoped for rain before we came and we sure got it. We hope it was the rain that affected the fishing and not our inability to concur the elements. River up and chocolate.

River fining down trotted caster all day, chub of 4.08 and 2.12 plus dozens of smaller chub and some quality roach and dace. This is a lovely beat, we had the pleasure of being able to watch the shoot opposite in the afternoon.

Very poor day from both of us. Started with a torrential downpour that seemed to last for hours. 1 Barbel and 2 Chub all that was to show from such a nice water.
