Warm sunny day, water was low but with a little colour, saw one fish rising over 3 hours. Caught 3 trout but only landed 1 of 11 inches, [fishing barbless]. I found this stream very difficult, high banks with very little access and lots of overhanging trees and vegetation, pity, there were some very nice deepish, fishy looking glides. For the last hour I moved down to the Garron at its confleuence to the Wye, caught another 3 trout 5-7inches.

I fished the Island Pool early morning for 2 barbel & a chub before moving to a swim by the pumping station. No action there so moved back to the Island Pool and had another barbel and 2 chub in the evening. The fish were caught on Extracta pellets and/or meat.

Wow! What a stunning piece of water. Very low water, clear river and high air pressure conditions was always going to make it tough going. However, I managed a lovely barbel and chub during my 3 hour session.
Thanks to WUF as always for the clear maps and a good selection of swims.

As expected we arrived to a very shallow stretch, the water being gin clear as well. I set my stall out for chub given the conditions and had an early 3lber on the float with corn. Set up the feeder after about 3 hours and fished over the top of the loose feed and had a barbel and 3 more chub all on meat, nothing on pellet. My son had set up in the last swim and had to wait until early evening for 3 chub, again on meat.
With a few feet of water on a nice short beat for two anglers.
Thanks Allyson in the office for sorting out the roadworks!

The river was very low but there were still plenty of pools to search on a warm bright day. Plenty of fly life with noticeable hatches around noon and again around 5pm. There were fish rising in most of the deeper pools but they were hard to tempt in gin clear water. We finished with 4 fish, all on dry fly. A beautiful venue with some very difficult wading!

Low clear river, hot and sunny in the day, two bites all day, one pike landed weighing 18lb 9oz taken on a small roach trotted through slack water. Day ended early with a trip to A&E with a poorly finger cut to the bone chopping the head off a mackerel whilst trying not to take my eye of the float. Still a good day out.

As usual, Ty Newydd produced the goods. The day started off with quite a heavy fog but the sun soon took care of that and from then the temperature was positively summery! A lovely 1lb grayling was the first fish to take the size 14 Golden Shrimp. My partner in crime, on his first visit, had a number of small browns and parr before getting his first decent grayling of just under the pound. Plenty of fish up to lunch, about midday, then after that, it was quite hard to pick up even a take! Only a few more fish were taken before we packed up about 6pm. The river was quite low and clear but the faster water and gullies held plenty of fish. If we had landed all the lost fish and takes, the return would have read about 60 or 70 fish between us. Stonkin'! day!!
