fished the bottom field. river was dropping but still pacey so fished the margins and slack water. Lost one early to a snapped hooklink so moved swims. Had a cracking chub but then struggled for the rest of the day. 2 other fishersmen managed some decent barbel so they were there, just down to my lack of skills today.

Just as others have said, not much swim choice with four people and high-ish water, but the fish weren't having anything. Big pellet/small pellet, halibut/robin red, spicy meat, smelly paste, garlic boilie, sweet boilie, chopped, whole or barrel. Not a touch. Maybe should have taken maggots.

River going down, could only find one place to fish for two of us,around the shingle area, weather was good, river going thru like a train .nice colour, threw the kitchen sink at it to no avail.
Fished this place before on numerous occasions with fantastic results and it’s lovely surroundings, but my god it’s been left to rack and ruin since covid
The lovely salmon hut, covered in bushes the concrete steps all overgrown
Uncut swims like there used to be,and it was a good job my nephew Andy had a 4x4
Utherwise we would never have made it down let alone up again
Unless things change that’s the last time we will be going there
Sorry for the rant ????

Self and three others. River and temperature falling after yesterday's 60cm rise. A wet and blowy day. Lots of chub and a roach! 1 barbel at last knockings, >7lbs. Most fish on meat again. At these river levels the number of fishable swims there is very limited.

Nicely coloured slowly rising river. A beautiful setting, very long beat with a handful of fishable swims. We will be back. Feeder and pellet tactics
