Water considerably warmer than it was earlier in the week, although a lot less fly life with a stiff upstream wind. Fished nymphs under an indicator majority of the day with some good success. All 5 fish caught on a Howard Croston pattern. Took the dry fly rod for a walk but no rising fish seen.

Perfect early season day on the Honddu. Mild conditions got the fish feeding. Nothing massive, but lots of fish 9 to 12 inches about. All on nymphs either NZ style, tight-line nymphing or under a bung.

Nothing substantial, chub up to around 3lb 8 every 15 minutes or so once I got the method right. Then it was time to go. Lovely place.The cacophony of wildlife sound at the end of the day was something to behold

Quite morning but fish came on the feed in the afternoon, plenty of Chub rattles really nice to finish the river season with a Whisker which gave a good account of itself in the fast flow on this beat. Lovely to be out in the warm sunshine
