Only managed a couple of hours in the early afternoon, hot and sunny with nothing rising in a river that I suspect was a little high. Fished duo with dark olive klink and pheasant tail nymph on point. No luck but an interesting little section worthy of another visit in the evening sometime.

River fairly high & a bit coloured. Very little fly all day and only saw 4 rising fish, all of which looked very small. Caught one of about 3oz. Beat getting very overgrown again.

A 15lb Salmon was hooked on second cast by Green Bank Pool. It was on for 10 minutes prior to flipping off. A small brownie was also hooked, landed and returned.
The land owner was at his Lodge and was very helpful with advice etc.

A slow day with very little moving. The fresh downstream breeze not helping matters.
I caught a few small fish on a variety of nymphs but the only fish worthy of mention was a 1lber caught behind the waterfall near the iron ladder.
Fished the lower beat 9am - 1pm then moved location to the top beat. Had a look at conditions but decided against getting my rod back out.
All fish returned to the river safely.

Fished for Salmon at Chainbridge with some freinds, no luck despite some good advice from Barry. The river height dropped over the day but remained fairly coloured.
We stayed at the Olway in Usk. Good as ever. Hope to return later in the year.

An encounter with a concealed stone the evening before had destroyed 2 tyres, and most of this day was lost. However, the hour I had produced one trout of about 10 inches to very heavy nymphing in the channel at the bottom end. Very pleasant beat, will be back next year.

After 10hours rain yesterday river was still high and coloured in the morning but fined down by 6pm to make it worth a go. First cast produced a fish but it was tricky and made wading awkward. Fish caught on Adams and sedge (with last cast about 8.30 pm).
