River now in superb condition, all of the 3 + miles of fishing available. 4 barbel and 1 chub to the cz nymph. Sink and draw sprats caught all 3 jacks to 8lb but no big fish showed any interest. All the sport came from beat 5 then ran out of daylight.

River was a little higher than I would have hoped, but certainly fishable. Struggled for long periods until I found the occasional shoal of fish, all in the 6-10 inch range. Felt the need to fish this stunning beat one more time this year, and will return next year after some warmer fishing in the Thai Jungle over Christmas.

A good day’s fishing, my first time on this beat. Water looked fairly low and clear. Didn’t start fishing until 11.30am but caught from the off. Grayling mostly around 9 inches, with the biggest at 11 inches and a few 5 inch juveniles. Also caught a couple of OOS brownies of 8 and 9 inches. Used a French leader tipped with two tungsten beaded nymphs. Czech nymphs and PTNs with copper, gold and white beads all scored. The catch rate tapered off after the first hour, it was then necessary to move around and pick off fish here and there. Didn’t have time to fully explore the beat so a good justification to return again.

Lovely mild day. River running a little high but could see down a couple of feet so not too coloured. No takes or fish seen unfortunately. Enjoyed the beauty of the surroundings though.

Trotted maggots but completely blanked. This is a nice stretch but for much of it is inaccessible due to overgrown vegetation.
