River low and clear, disappointed to find so few swims available, most of the riverbank is overgrown making access to most swims near on impossible. All fish taken on feeder with pellet. Stayed at Flanesford (5th time), accomodation excellent as usual.

River un-fishable with large amounts of weed coming down at all levels of the water. Is someone weedcutting? Gave up and went to the pub.

Again water low at .42m. My turn to blank today as fish were hard to come by. My guest Dai Marlow landed one nice chub and one trout of half pound late on. One stale salmon showed at the Chine at 7pm.
No luck at all again on the dries at dusk but very few steady rises to target within casting distance. Also tried subsurface flies late on but no takes either. Need fresh water.

Other = dace. Cage feeder fishing halibut pellet & luncheon meat.
Also wish to report a incident: when we got to our chosen swim at around 7.15am there were anglers on the opposite bank fishing with their bait under the trees on our bank which we did not object to but they objected to us fishing in our chosen swims even though we were fishing only about 3ft from the bank.

The water was low and clear, but there were a few Olives, Caddis and small stoneflies hatching. Most of the fish came to nymphs. The Graying were in good condition, the best of about 1 1/2 pound, most around 3/4 pound the trout were all small 6"ers.

Despite low level of river, water in excellent condition; slight colour and running well. Two small Brown's on Yellow Sedge and Hopper but loads of missed "attacks" on ever-smaller Dries. Beautiful location; squirrels and dippers kept me company along with a pair of very active Kingfishers. A great day out.

A lovely river running very, very low.I am sure it will fish great for winter grayling. Can't wait. Used numerous flies dry, wet but to no avail. Will be back.

Arrived at a very low river just after dawn. I took a stroll and found only two swims I fancied. The first swim looked like it might throw up a chub or barbel with the usual tactics, but ended up fishing the stick with permitted as of 15th Sept, non-aquatic pupae (maggots to us normal folk). Got hammered by tiny Dace and a couple of Perch. By 3pm I thought I'd try the other swim but was not feeling too confident. But that's how fishing goes and I finished at dusk with 2 barbel and 4 chub, so I was quite please in what were tough conditions.
Nice peaceful stretch and I would love to return when the conditions are better.
