Hot, sunny day which probably accounted for slow sport until late afternoon/early evening. Two rods caught 8 superbly conditioned barbel between 6-8 pounds and 8 chub up to just under 5 pounds. River at good Summer level with nice pace and a tinge of colour. Most fish came from croys at top end of the fishery to pellet baits.

The longish trek from the designated parking spot is rewarded by a beautiful, open and wide stretch of river. It was unseasonably hot and bright with nothing showing on the surface. I tried all sorts of tactics without success but eventually tempted a solitary, small Grayling at the top end with a weighted nymph.

No salmon caught, river in great condition, had a great day.

Between the two rods 6 barbel were hooked and 3 landed from the bottom 2 pegs. The fish were all between 5 and 6lb.

Caught about dozen fish between us, all Grayling bar one or two small Brownies. Grayling all a good average size, biggest about 1 ¾ lbs. River level good and a nice sunny day spoilt by a cold breeze and very cold water temperature which seemed to drive the fish in to the deep slow water opposite the church. Unfortunately it gets quite deep here making wading difficult. Virtually no fly life and very few rises all day. Majority of fish caught on PT nymph and Dry stimulators.

Barbel to 7lbs 14oz and numerous skinney chub to 3lbs 11oz. Enjoyable two days.

Bad day at the office, nil Caught

No salmon caught or seen. One salmon of about 10 lb hooked at Cillaiu Falls at 7.30pm, giving a good fight until shaking off the hook just before reaching the net. Strangely, the river began to rise suddenly at about the same time, probably due to a release from Elan. Full sun all day.

Nil return.

Good fishing conditions. River around 1 meter. Temperature 59 deg F, Water clear. No fish caught. No fish seen all day.
