Buckland may be a great beat when conditions are right but today it was quite hard going. There aren’t too many features and the riffles are mainly fairly shallow and gravelly. But I scratched around and found some fish and shared a pool with an otter on two occasions. The fish I did catch were generally smallish with a handful over the pound and one at 2lb 1 oz. A good day then, not a great day.

Overcast, humid, drizzly, river a nice colour..but save for a couple of chub the morning was uneventful...odd. Then the sun came out, I expected the worst but from then I caught on-and-off for the rest of the day til I ran out of bait.
All barbel on the float. Chub on everything, anywhere

Beautiful lake with great wildlife including kingfishers.
Didn't catch much apart from a couple of roach, and only saw 2 carp moving all day. Weather was calm with periods of light rain. Float fished and ledgered sweetcorn.
