First time at Canon Bridge but would definitely return. Beautiful setting and very much liked the ease of access and ability to drive along the bank to the swim. Easy to find and only a short walk to the bank. One early morning barbel of 8.5lb to halibut pellet. One chub to meat pellet before heavy rain set late morning water to colour up quickly bringing fishing to a soggy end.

Spinning, caught 2 brown trout approx 1lb each (returned) .

1 rainbow trout 2lb on a Tony spinner.

The plan was for England to lift the European cup, then catch 200 chub while basking in the glory…. Best laid plans and all that! Spain and the weather had different ideas, however the morning was dry so we pitched on the bend which seems full of big chub and a surprise barbel, popped back in the evening and fished by the hut for more big chub until more rain closed in, shame as it’s a stunning beat, don’t book if your nervous of cattle.

Warm dry afternoon with breeze, trout rising in and around Lili pads to various size flies. Only caught one on a size 12 Klinkhammer and missed a few others but no interest on anything else we tried. Some litter by the boathouse unfortunately.

Barbel and one chub caught on 14 mm pellet ledgered, 3 chub caught on double 8mm pellet ledgered. Going was slow - fished from about 7 am until 13:30 Weather hot. Had to have 5 attempts to ascend the hill of doom. It needs compacting , it’s too loose for anyone without 4 wheel drive.
