The river was dropping from about 6 foot plus over summer levels and still quite coloured, est 18 inches visibility in the water. Fished a calmer pool on beat 5, just after the bend, and caught 1 chub about 4 lb. Moved down river to beat 1 Lower and caught 2 chub close in by the near bank. Again about 4lb. All fish caught on a 1 inch square size luncheon meat. Also fished near the bank on beat 2 with no fish. River running very fast in this area.

The river was approx 9 foot above summer level which made the fishing interesting. Nevertheless we managed 24 barbel between us, mainly from the sheltered swims amongst the trees before the footbridge. The biggest fish was 8 1/2lb and they were taken on various pellets and home made paste baits. The fish were split 13,8 and 3. Considering the conditions a decent start to our 4 days fishing on wuf waters.

Booked on Courtfield for 4 days only to find the river 8 feet above summer level, but with Don's help ended the week with a total of 9 chub to 4lbs and 47 barbel, most in the 5 to 8lbs range with the best one of 10lbs 40z. Can't wait to move up here.

Low conditions, several swims tried, but nothing caught. Very disappointing as a lovely stretch of river. 1 mink seen on left bank.

Fished both Saturday & Sunday, Saturday we were greeted with 8 foot of raging flood water and Sunday it was up another 2 feet!!!! We had never seen the venue before so fish location became difficult - we managed to winkle out 6 barbel to 8lb on Saturday and 2 on the Sunday to 4lb.

Had a fantastic day. Thought it was going to be a bit of a struggle, river was high and very coloured. I fished one swim and had 9 barbel. Very happy.
Very well run fishery, keep up the good work. 1 more thing the walk up the hill is a killer but well worth it.

The most productive areas were the normal floodwater conditions - some break in the flow but smooth water. One rod had 3 Barbel, the other 13 so quite productive although a bit dissapointing as this is a stunning length in normal conditions.
