Fished from 10 until 4.30pm. Blessedly little wind but ultra-low water: pools pretty static - more like lakes. Very few fish rising throughout the day and little fly about: a few mayflies (but the hatch less than it was two weeks ago), some (what looked like) pale wateries, and a few sedges. Twelve trout and one grayling. Most trout 9-10 inches and two 11-12 inches. Fish taken on olive, hare's ear and mayfly emergers in the pools and necks. Still no sign of the much needed rain.

Ignore the lower stretch in front of the caravan/camping area. Water was a bit coloured and although there were swarms of gnats/midges on the water, there were very few Mayfly rising and even fewer rising trout. However managed to tempt 6 fish (5"-10") to the fly, 3 to Mayfly patterns and, in the last half hour fishing, 3 to a CDC and Elk pattern size 14. This is a nice beat but the one above it is more fun (even though I caught fewer fish there).

Cool stiff breeze all day, with overcast skies. Resevoir water level considerably lower than the last visit. Fished NE bank up to lunch. Two rainbows approx 1.5.lb each caught on Mepps comet 3 and kept. Fished S bank in the afternoon with no results.

Grey & overcast, chilly with gusty cold wind at times. Fish rose most of the day except from 4.00 pm until 6.00 pm. Took 10 - 15 trout to 10" & 8-10 grayling similar size. Mainly on dries although the bigger trout took the nymphs often tied with a bit of sparkle. Excellent day, had to ring the changes & fish hard but rewarding & v pleasurable.
NB we fished here last week (26th) when it was very windy & had similar results ( except caught 1lb + chub on nymph) until the river was turning green with leaf debris & the fish went home!!so we took the hint.

Fished from around 6pm through to 10pm. Gusty, cold wind seemed to limit the fly hatches although there plenty of sedges with a few olives and yellow mays around during the calmer moments. Ended up with 12 brown trout to 1.5lbs and 2 out of season grayling, all on a tan klinkhammer. Had quite a few takes when the fly was dragging across the surface.

Fished for 4 hours - water still has a slight algal bloom but a good flow meant it was very fishable. Caught and lost 2 shad, saw a few salmon moving, wish I'd had all day even if a bit cold.

River was very low, not much more than knee-deep over most of the deeper runs. It was also a sunny day with clear water. We watched water all day and fished if we saw any activity but this was rare. Caught nothing but enjoyed the river nonetheless. We did see a lamprey 100 metres upstream from the church, by itself but appearing to be looking for a 'scrape'.

Great day fishing the lower section. A few trout to be seen on lower section of the beat - lost a large fish on a bend under the trees due to the 4 pound leader breaking. Lots of small takes on White mayfly. Great place to escape the bussle of life. Large amount of herons 6-7am when I arrived.
Total caught 4 small browns all returned.
