1st time on this beat and have to say we were dissapointed with the limited number of swims on the middle/top of this beat especially the top where fighing our way through the woods trying to find pegs wasted a lot of fishing time. It wouldn't take a lot of work to improve this area, also, re a previous comment that there are a couple of cracking pegs screaming to be opened up in the orchard.
The lower end of this beat presents much more fishable river with some really nice swims and once we located the fish we managed to catch 35 Barbel and 10 Chub with the biggest Barbel going to around 8lb.
We would definatley fish this beat again, we just hope the WUF listen to ours and previous comments about limited swims and carry out some work on the top end of this beat as it would change it from a good beat to an excellent beat.
Directions and access to the beat spot on and no problems encountered with the local livestock !
Thanks.
WUF Note: Clearance work is due on this fishery in October under our HARP project.

Beat:R19 Llynfi at Pontithiel
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
Blank. This turned out to be not so good an idea. Firstly, the Llynfi was amazingly low - hardly a trickle between still pools and the bottom covered in slime. It was as if all the recent showers have somehow missed this stream's catchment, or maybe it's that the level is low in Llangorse lake? Secondly, not long after I set off upstream looking for a fish rising somewhere, remembering that the Llynfi fished quite nicely last October in a decent flow, what water was still running down the stream turned to liquid mud. It turned out that a farmer on the beat above was carrying out some sort of excavation operation with heavy machines and all the muck was running into the river. Went off to the pub in disgust.

1 small trout to a wet fly. A few fish rising when the rain stopped. Lovely beat, but found it it difficult fishing on the upper section - couldn't get to right bank, & overhanging trees all the way up the left bank, which made for tricky casting.

Just a couple of hours here in the late afternoon, but a lovely beat with great scenery. Lots of fish seen in the pools, but just 1 x 10" trout caught to a klinkhammer, chased all the way to the net by a much bigger trout which emerged from the shadows as soon as it was hooked. Apologies - lost my pen, so blank vouchers posted.

Beat:Lyepole
Fishing:Trout (River)
River low and clear. We both caught several, what looked like very small grayling, on small dry flies and small gold headed nymphs. We both managed a 12" Brown Trout caught on gold headed nymphs fished deep in the larger pools. The blustery wind made casting a little difficult and the river could have done with a bit of colour. We both had an enjoyable day and would like to fish here again when the river has got a bit more water. Just as a note we noticed that there were small areas of Japanese Knotweed appearing.
Thanks

Took my 13 Year old son with me and because of that couldn't fish the very top of the beat near the power line!
Settled in the next beat down stream, plenty of room for the two of us. Started about 0900 and fished sliding ledger with pellet on a hair rig. The River was slightly colured and slightly up due to recent rain.
After a quiet start I lost one barbel but caught another after a couple of hours, a beautiful 6 pound fish. Then my son caught his first ever barbel. He refused an eager father's help and landed the fish himself, very proud and very tired after! another 5-6 pound fish that fought like a demon.
Nothing then all day as the wind really picked up and waves appeared.
Lost a fair amount of tackle in the river, lots of snags.
Overall an enjoyable day and made up that my son caught his first ever barbel.
