17C with very strong wind. Many good fish rising tight against left bank on upper part of beat. Not interested in our flies, as probably taking midge and their pupae. Biggest difficulty - keeping hat on while casting! Outstanding beat - must try again when conditions more favourable. Lost several fish. Found Sandpipers nest by river with four eggs.

There was two of us fishing myself and friend from demark, my first river trip and his first time in Great Britain fishing. He took five half pound browns using a dry fly, I took seven using dry flies, largest brown being about 1.5 lb. The beat was fantastic and we were joined for lunch by two local dogs. The booking through the office was so easy I could not believe it. The ladies were so helpful and they did what it said on the tin, I will definitely be back.

A pleasant but windy day, fishing was hard but managed 7 trout in all, mostly caught at bottom of beat under the trees on suspenders and dries. This is a lovely beat and was well worth the 1 and 1/2 hr drive. I also hooked my 1st ever, what I think was a salmon or a very big trout on a hares ear, wasn't on for long and leapt to his or hers freedom. Was a joy to hook, even for only a split second... thanks again WUF.

First time on this beat for 2 novices. Such a beautiful piece of water and a pleasure to fish it. Wind and trees caused plenty of tangles and frustrated us a little. Fish were rising sporadically to hatch (Mayflies and Olives)throughout the day. We mixed Czech nymphing with dry fly and New Zealand method. 2 small wild brown trout taken to the net on gold bead olive nymph hung under a Klinkammer. Missed many more bites. No sign of bigger fish. Car park 1 in the wood upstream is a bit of an adventure to reach if you dont have a four wheel drive. Lovely, lovely day out. Will be back. Thank you WUF.

Weather o/c and breezy. Had 4 small trout and 1 salmon parr on PTN and klinkhammer. Then good size OOS grayling on the klinkhammer. Plenty of mayfly activity but little action from the fish. Late on had a nice brownie on spent mayfly. Next day with similar conditions had 7 small (8"), 4 midsize (10"-14") and 2 grayling, all on klinkhammer.

Water 0.4m with slight colour. Fished for salmon as one of around 8lb showed several times below the rock at the Rockpool. Hooked a large salmon par on the Cascade, but only succeeded in driving the salmon back into the belly of the pool, where it showed itself once more. Fished for trout as several may duns and one or two mayfly on the water. Landed and returned four trout of around 12 oz on the dry 14 tups but driving wind and sharp drop in temperature curtailed the late evening rise which was disappointing.
