First time on this beat so always an exciting prospect. Greeted by a very chocolate brown fast flowing, rising river, so decided to walk the beat to seek out any possible swims. Chose to start at the church end and work back trying the slack areas close in. The one other was an eel, caught on cheese, our only bite of the morning. Had a break and decided to give the wooded swims a try, opted for about the 7th swim along, using cheese and garlic soft hookers wrapped in meaty paste, which resulted in the 2 barbel ( 5lb and 7lb 12oz). With the river continuing to rise we called it a day, but will return on a normal day.

Unfortunately the rain from the previous evening brought the river up very fast. I arrived at the river at 8.30 am and it was rising , very coloured and full of floating debris. I had a quick go with a flying c but way too much debris floating downstream. I'm not sure if Greenbank has a wash off policy but it would be nice if it has.

Arrived to a dramatic looking storm looming behind the Church, luckily we all caught fish before it arrived, we had to really bat-ton down the hatches at 4 pm, that really killed the fishing but had a brilliant 6 days on the Wye, no big catches all week but Barbel every day and some decent weather and local refreshments. Highly rate the Creel, plenty of good swims and easy parking and access to beat.
