Grey, blustery, showers, occasional sunshine. River up and coloured. Conditions felt good but fish hard to come by. All fish on either halibut pellet or pellet and paste. Mainly fished beat 3, left bank outer bend. One barbel c.12lbs (a PB), other 9-10lbs. Two excellent fish.

It was a lovely day and looking at previous catch returns we might reasonably have expected a fish or two. There was no sign at all either on the surface or below and we fished it for five hours over the morning and afternoon. Very little insect life to be seen and nary a fish! Excellent ham, egg and chips for lunch at the Crown, Longtown.
A beautiful day out and it looks a promising piece of water.
