Moderate mayfly hatch. Lovely conditions- just fining down. Most activity 2-4pm then quieter. Two of six fish 10” taken rest returned. Grey wulff. 7 ft rod ample for this stretch

First time on this beat. Very few rising fish but they readily coming up for a dry. Managed to land 10 on various coloured Grunters, probaly half as many early realeses. Best fish a fat and healthy looking 10".
Best of the fishing at the top and bottom third of the beat.
I'm sure a nymph run through the likely looking lies would have resulted in a lot more fish but I was happy fishing a dry.
Great fun on a 6'6" 2 weight.
Suprised no mention of the power lines that cross the stream in a couple of places. Be careful.

Sunny intervals and stiff northerly breeze. Fly fishing 0900 - 1400. Fish not very active. Apart from 2 missed takes, nothing else all day. Plenty of flies about but hardly any fish rising.
