Confused & disappointed with this be beat. The map does not show a weir a third of the way up the beat (next to where you park your car). As there appears to be no foot access for this top section & the river is fenced closely on both sides it appears you can only fish the main section of the beat if you are prepared to enter the weir pool. This is about 3 - 4 feet deep before you sink in to the silt. Maybe a 6'6" guy may be happy with this but for me at 5' 5" & the water going over the weir only 10' away this does not seem a very sensible option. The bottom part of the beat is great but would not fish this beat again.
WUF Note: Our apologies that the map did not show the correct location on the weir. We have now updated the details.

Unfortunately no catches today and the fog didn't clear but thickened as the day went on! Water was gin clear but I saw only one grayling at the top of the beat in a couple of hours of fishing. My companion missed one take early in the day on a nymph.

The river was low but with some colour the temperature was about 10 C. with a hazy sky. Fished bottom half of this delightful stretch, osbt taking ginger hackled dry fly willingly, but no sign of grayling

Caught 1 small grayling on klinkhammer. Tried other methods but to no avail. I've found that a furled leader spooks the fish less than than a tapered nylon leader when fishing the top for grayling.

I fished for about 3hrs from the bridge to the top of the beat. Nothing at all between bridge & weir but hooked & lost 2 fish in the deeper pools using a French leader & tungsten nymphs. Some of these pools are very deep with steep banks & one needs to exercise caution.

Couple of hours late afternoon with Tenkara rod - fished only from the bridge to the weir. No sight nor sound of anything.Came across a dead pike in the shallows. Not a monster - but unexpected in the Arrow. The fallen big willow which was blocking the river just up from the bridge has been completely cleared.

Fished from midday to 5pm using mainly wet fly. Plenty of rises in the deeper pool between the bridge and the weir but only hooked one dace. No rises or takes in the stretch above the weir. Nevertheless a beautiful beat and definitely worth a return visit.
