Fishing dry fly, the trout, small 6-7inches taken on the top, the grayling 1pound+ taken when fly had sunk, {water logged} bright sunny day little wind. The farmer commented he had not seen any fishermen on the water for a long time. This is my first return, trust the information given is what you require.

Excellent evening fishing, walked to the downstream start of the beat, first cast and a beautiful male Grayling. Very overgrown, weather was warm and no wind. Lots of very deep holes and had to climb up the bank to get to the next pool in some places. Will return to fish again now I know what to expect from this excellent beat.

Thank you for your help. first time on your waters. Email communication with Dai was really useful prior to departure and booking by telephone was made easy.
Nymph fished, full, coloured stream. Will return to Dulas and Abbey Dore in the future.

Fishing:Winter Grayling

2 grayling about 9" on a Sawyer nymph fished deep. Couldn't find a shoal, if there were any. Could not get through some pools even with chest waders - the farmer says his dad remembers the military scooping gravel out of the river many years ago, and the pools have not filled up again. Unusual day, with the historic Abbey on one side of the river and the army blasting away on exercises on the other!

A couple of hours spent nymphing. Water levels on Dore slightly deeper than hoped. Sadly could only connect with brownies today and failed to locate the Dore grayling. Nice little beat.
