A window in the weather launched me out of the house around 14:30 for a couple of hours on this so inviting stretch of the Arrow. The recent downpours are beginning to find there way into the system but only slightly, perhaps still not enough. Missed one take to a Griffiths Gnat and that was it then nothing.

Returned to the car that I had to shove into a bush as the parking spot was occupied, met the owner on return, a very pleasant young lady wielding a chainsaw, she can park wherever she likes as far as I’m concerned ! :)

Well for a change I didnt venture out at sparrows fart , had a five mile session on the tread mill early on then mooched off to the Arrow at Titley . . .

Got there at half eight , looked a picture as always, the Arrow @ Titley is always like a big mug of Horlicks , very comforting and easy wading , and generally great dry fly water!!!! But alas today the great big ball in the sky was beaming down from the off !!!!

Initially I started on stint Parachute Adam's, no takers, soon went a slightly weighted flashback PTN , and first take woooooooooh !!! Easy tiger !!! Had a right run around on the six foot two weight rod ,in a deep shady pool , eventually netting a beat, must have been twenty plus inches , Maybe my best Arrow brownie to date !!@ rested him for a while quick pic then a splashy powerfully goodbye, fantastic !!!!

The next fish was another Arrow fatty , perhaps twelve inches , but beautifully marked ,played in quick, and released back into the shadowy pool . Last two fish , both about ten inches were Also on the PTN , which today worked wonders ,more natural than tungsten and flows better in the current , spot on . . . .

A fun four hours ,did see two mink while I was there ,cheeky brash little things , one , only the other side of the bank , and didn't even budge !!! Ggggrrrrrrrr!!! That's two too many for one beat I'd say !!

An unexpected session this morning , and some gorgeous fish to the net , was nice to get back to my truck for a well earned drink , reading 29 degrees in the dash when I set off , strewth , a tad warm, back here soon ,when it's a lot cooler ,definitely in need of a good flush through here ,a lovely morning , spot on !!!

First time on this absolutely stunning beat. Arrived late and didn't start fishing until 10.30. Started off overcast, but the sun broke through to make it a sweltering day.

Started of at the bottom of the beat and worked up to the footbridge. No interest in either dry or nymph, and no fish seen. Caught my only fish about a hundred yards above the bridge, a beautiful 8" trout, on a scruffy home tied klink. Found some fish feeding in a very shallow glide and spent a while trying for them, without success. My casting needs improvement. Then found two absolute klonkers, one of which must have been 20", sat under some cover and again spent some time trying to winkle one out. A few times they went toward the dry but refused at the last second. Frustrating, but fascinating fishing.

A fantastic beat, hope to try again soon.

River low and clear. Warm and sunny day. All on Nymphs, 1 splashy take on a dry but didn't connect and several lost fish.

Despite a decent fly hatch no fish seen rising on the full length of the beat and nothing in my fly box could entice a take. A nice day out in lovely countryside though.

This is a stunning fishing beat and reasonably accessible. The river was low and gin clear with plenty of deep pools and riffles to fish. During the day, there were very few fish seen rising despite several hatches. I initially used a dry dropper size 14 Klinkhamer and a similar size hare ear nymph and then varied my fishing from just dry and just nymph througout the beat. I caught small 3 WBT on nymph and had several takes.

Arrived at 7pm, 2 small trout from a low clear river Arrow on Nymphs. Lost a really nice fish in one of the pools below the bridge and pulled out of 3 other fish as well! A few fish were rising this evening as well.

River was very low and not very clear hooked one small browni but he slipped the hook. Very quiet fish wise and fly wise.
