After a hectic few days of shifts was ready for a wind down session on a river somewhere , so opted for the lovely Titley beat of the Arrow . . . . Got there about ten a nice day , bit blustery and reading eighteen degrees in my truck , tackled up my usual small streams outfit and tied on a tiny Parachute Greenwells see how things went , then bimbled down to the dirt of start of the beat . . .

Initially no responses and so changed to an Adam's still no takers in the usual haunts , so tried s nymph and first feisty fish , about eight inches slipped back in . . . Did then change back to Para Greenwells , as did see a splashy rise head if a pool , so careful casting and gad him !!!! Great stuff at last , nice ten inch fish too , quickly admired then released, likewise third fish took the Parachute dry with some gusto and last fish was just down from the weir in the faster water , also had two on and quickly off during my four hour session , fish ranged from seven to ten inches today. . . . .

A pleasant few hours on one of my favourite beats , didn't see the mink today which is a first fir here !!! Thouroughly enjoyable chill out , and four beauties to hand , tricky finding the brownies today , usually respond well to a prosoected dry but want to be today and had to really work and search out areas tight to the bank and pocket water , still great fun and back to this gem very soon . . . . . . . . Morrisons early bells tomorrow, get that dreary chore nailed , then get to another wild stream that needs a dry fly gracing its waters ha ha!!!!!!!!

Bright day, river fairly quiet. A few rises around lunch time and more activity around 6pm under clouds of midges. Fished small dries. What a lovely beat!

Well , did have plans to go to fish the Edw at Cregrina , but last minute winged a right at Pembridge , And plumbed for another of the glorious Arrow beats . . . . . At Titley ! Carrying on the Arrow theme for the weekend ha ha . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Arrived at half ten , again muggy , overcast and reading twenty degrees when I tackled up , with my usual six foot two weight and tied on a Parachute Greenwells , see how it goes . . .

Had a nice take in the lovely pool just below the footbridge , and at the faster water at the head of the pool , nice little fish , about eight inches , quickly slipped back in . The rocks here have more algae on them than up at the Kington beat , and could really do with a good flush through now , lets hope we get a bit the next few days , or should I say , some water here , but obviously not up Waley Bridge !!! Let's hope that dam holds out !!!!

Fished the Para Greenwells prospecting likely water , and next two fish on the dry , again good takes , happy to come up and nail the fly . Did fish a Parachute Adams also , likewise good splashy rises , and had my last two on the Adams , good fun , although the water starting to appear " stale " in the slower pools , and all the fish I had were all from fairly fast water . Brownies today ranged from seven to ten inches , as always lovely fish .

I did bump into the farmer , who was mowing the garden at the cottage were you park . I mentioned to him that I had spotted a mink on two occasions already this season , he mentioned that he'll get out with the shotgun and sort it out , with some ripe language to follow !!!!!!!!!! So thats a good thing that other folks also regard them as vermin and a pest on the river bank !!!

A fun relaxing four hours , five crackers brought to hand , with two good fish not made it to the net on nymphs fished in the deeper pools . Always a lovely spot to wind down here , back soon , always good medicine in the Arrow Valley . . . . . . . Spot on !!!!!!!

Well fancied a quick session on another Arrow beat , so with Mrs A working till three , and the mowing done early , rain came in from ten till about midday , so opted for the Titley beat . . .

Arrived at the yew tree parking area at bang on one , lovely weather conditions , and certainly better than a few days ago , reading only seventeen degrees in my truck , overcast and a slight breeze , spot on !!!! Rigged up my usual six foot , two weight and opted for a Parachute Greenwells , fishing initially between the ranunculus , accurate casting needed , and first nice brownie , just up from the footbridge , fish hammering the dry in the clear channels between the streams of weed , always amazes me , seem to appear out of knowwhere , superb fun , smash takes on the Greenwells . . .

Had three in the first two hundred yards , fish ranged from seven to ten inches , nice start to the afternoon , having to wade very carefully as some of the more shallower pools , fish very spooky , and brownies seemed to be in the faster water today , had another tight in to the far bank , another lovely rise to the dry . Also fished a Para Adams today , equal success . . . Fifth fish was caught on a nymph fished deep , absolute lunker , probably my best Arrow fish this season so far !!!! Must have been fourteen inches , a cracker , and put a nice bend in the six weight rod !!!!

Last fish before I decided to call it a day , was on the dry , head of a nice pool , just off from the fast water , nice take , and a cracking ten inch brownie to hand . . . Did see some crayfish claws and legs neatly positioned on a pebbled area , must be Tarka , or those mink I've seen here regularly ??

Anyway , a spot on three hours didn't go up to the weir , but had a ball in the time I was there , as always a superb place to spend a couple of hours , great fun . . . . . Back soon !!!!!

A quick Evening visit with the Tenkara rod. I was hoping to see a bit more water after the rain but still very low and clear.
