Fished from parking up past Glanedw farm. some deep pools and also some skinny water. every pool had 2 or 3 fish rising to mays. fish very spooky. Had 3 brown trout 8-10" on a sparkle dun. the beat is quite overgrown and some difficult wading. donated several flies to the river guardians, (Branches). Had a great couple of hours will be back.........

I think I should have started earlier than 11 as it was all over by 1. A few olives and sedges around when I started and occasional Trout rising. 6 Trout to 10 inches caught on a DHE. Switched to nymph after lunch but apart from a few pulls nothing else caught. 23 degrees when I finished we'll soon need some rain!

River back to summer level after the recent rains. Hard going couldn't get any interest in dries or nymphs. Eventually caught one on a Killer kebari pattern fishing with Tenkara rod. Lost a couple then met the Otter and decided to call it a day.

After a pleasant morning on the Edw Hergest beat we made our way to the bridge at the Cregrina beat. Heading downstream to the start of the beat was a challenge and after some mountaineering managed to get down to the river.
As we gathered breath there was a splashy rise in the adjacent run. A small green klink was hastily attached and de-barbed, which was duly taken by a feisty little wbt of around 7 inches.
Fishing the runs back towards the bridge produced a further 2 wbts around the same size, both coming from the same run.
The river above the bridge changes to a more steady slow pace and offers little to the dry fly fisherman, so we did the decent thing and packed the rods away and headed for the pub.
All fish admired and returned to grow bigger.

Warm but not bright. Rivers very overgrown here, with whole trees down across it and some areas impenetrable. You have to be determined to fish here and it could do with a chain saw gang to open it out a little.

Blissful day to be on the river. Parachute Adams was the only dry fly used which got fish up when surprisingly there were not that many rises. Lured the larger trout from the deeper pools with gold head nymph NZ style. All Trout between 4 and 9", the takes were lightening quick which took me a while to get tuned into, great sport all day.

2 fish landed in the first 3 casts. River running low and slightly coloured which was weird as reports of friends fishing further down at Hergest and Aberedw were of gin clear water. Cloudiness may have helped. I fished consistently on a grey spider pattern (not sure what it is to be honest but picture attached). Most fish around 6-8" but a couple at 10.

In what was to be a theme for the weekend, we had to be flexible with fishing due to water levels. We didn't even attempt Ty Newydd at Erwood, knowing the Wye levels would be favouring Salmon fishers rather than us Trouters. From experience the nearby Edw is sometimes accessible even when its destination (Wye) is raging. After a slow start, the Cregrina beat was very productive. All fish caught on an Iron Blue dry, and returned.

No fish caught. A few small pool runs were fished. Very challenging with such a low water level. Beautiful wildlife.

Cloudy but warm day, wind a little strong but not noticed when on the river.
A frustrating day, only 5 trout between 4 and 6 inches to hand but at least three times that lost and even more missed.
Fished dry all day on small klinkhammers, all of the fish coming from tails of pools or slower water.
Fish rising all day but had to move very slowly because the river very low, consequently took me 8 hours to complete the beat!I should have caught loads more and I'm sure a better angler would have done.
Nice beat which was very varied, both in the water and the wading.
