Fished using the new "wild stream" permit, a good and efficient service with very helpfull staff. Fished from 1PM to 8PM on a beautiful bright day with some cloud cover; tree cover and shade also helped comfort very spooky trout. A good rise early afternoon, I'm not clever enough to determine what type but I for sure saw some mayflies amongst some smaller flies. Short beat that has benefited from the coppicing work done by the Foundation. Tried a klinkhammer and mayfly to the rises but my casting failed me, one heavy cast and they were spooked. Searched with GBPTN for the remainder of the day, managed one 12" WBT in good condition. Beautiful beat, wished there were more trout in evidence.

Two nice trout, one just over 1lb, taken on Royal Wulff - both returned in good condition.

I felt like a beginner on this piece of water. Basically 1.5 miles of tumbling, broken water. I need some lessons before tackling this one again. The pools were small and the water fast. Beautiful and remote valley. Beautiful stream. Will be back after taking some advice! Watch out for tree stump hidden in undergrowth at parking.

River clear and running nicely. 2 trout (6/7") on a drab klink while the clouds parted around midday. When the clouds closed in again and the wind blew the trout were not interested in anything, despite some fly life. Hope this is not the weather pattern we can expect the rest of the year!!

Spent four hours fishing this streach. Plenty of fly life but no fish activity. This is a tough beat to wade.

Sorry for this delayed return: River very clear. Sunny conditions. The one trout that I did catch was about 3" long – it went straight back. I caught this on a fly grey – small – silver wide hook. This was caught near the bridge in the shade – early evening. I saw very little sign of any other fish. I sense that the trout are very sensitive – perhaps my movement scared them off. It is a lovely spot to fish. I wondered though whether the stream can actually sustain fisherman. Thanks for letting me fish though.

This is a lovely peaceful stretch of water. No-one about at all and it was lovely to see the signs of spring all around. The water was very low but it was a glorious day. I lost one trout in a riffle mid beat.

Very quick Sunday jaunt before the roast!! An excuse to get out with the cane if nothing else!

Nothing hard and fast, just a single grwyne dun on the point.

River clear, mixed weather, little sun, yet!! Sstill cold up here.. Stoneflies about as expected, large (feb reds?) alongside willows/needles though very sparse given the lack of sun/temp.

No surface activity to speak of. Roll on April!

Lovely day on this super stream but sadly no sign of any fish. Maybe still a little too cold.
