11 x trout 6-10 inches, Rusty Klinkhammer and Deer Hair Emerger. A cloudy afternoon with a big wind and occasional showers. The odd fish rising, understandably enough, seemed to be focused on what was falling out of the trees. However, towards the end, I was surprised to see a mayfly, my first this year. That seemed pretty early, but all the hatches have been early this year. I put it down as a curiosity, but before too long there were some more on the water and I came across several splashy risers coming up steadily for them which studiously ignored the little Klinkhammer when put over them. I was rather caught on the hop as I had no "big fly" pattern with me, but I resorted to an outsize Deer Hair Emerger in my regular box with the idea that I would at least be able to imitate the big slanting wing. This did the trick and accounted for a couple of nice fish at the end. A pleasant chat with a gentleman from Gloucester who was leaning over the bridge and thinking about buying a Wild Stream roving ticket. I recommended he does, because a modest outlay on the ticket can get you an awful lot of fun over a season.

Challenging day with high wind and rain, some colour in the water. I caught three wbt, approx 6-8 inches in lovely condition, two on gold head ptn and one on a parachute Adams. Beat is quite overgrown with an influx of Himalayan Balsam in places which could be a problem if left unchecked.

Lovely stream with easy access. A cool misty morning with nothing rising so I fished nymphs. I caught two wbt approx 8 inches long on ptn and lost two others. Donated a few flys to the trees but all in all a good few hours fishing!

One trout approx 7" on dry - parachute adams, should have had a few more as plenty were rising.

Three 6" trout caught on dries. I should have landed more as there were numerous fish rising. River level good with plenty of slower deeper runs.

12 x trout 6-8 inches, plus many more smaller parr, on a small Rusty Klinkhammer. A small amount of rain during the night was enough to put a certain amount of colour into the water, although this cleared as the morning went on. A few rises seen, but plenty of trout, mostly smaller fish in the runs at the heads of pools, were generally prepared to be enticed up, so I didn't use the nymph. A very pleasant way to kill a few hours. It's worth noting that this stream, which is barely above sea level, is reliably an early starter although, as it's a Severn tributary, it doesn't actually open until 18th March.

Couple of hours fishing and 3 trout the result, including my first wbt on a dry fly. Really like this beat although it is a little spoilt by the copious amounts of rubbish throughout....you could almost think you were fishing an urban beat.

Lovely day fishing. Two very small brown trout taken on gold-head PTN. Saw plenty of fish, none rising though and couldn't be enticed to take anything. The two I caught were from the same fast-flowing riffle and were taken in quick succession.

Really enjoyed this beat.
1 wbt of around 7" but missed a couple more bites. Saw plenty of fish, nothing bigger than the one I caught but loads of fish rising.
Only trouble was the rising fish had perfected the art of disappearing as soon as my clumsy feet entered the water!
