Approx ½ mile of mostly double bank fishing on the River Cynon at Aberdare. A medium to small size river with some surprisingly deep pools, so chest waders are recommended. A gravel bottom, with some silt and the odd boulder makes wading not too difficult. A couple of the pools are very deep, so you will need to get out to progress upriver. As to be expected on a river in an urban area, some litter may be encountered. Nevertheless, the river has some excellent habitat for wild brown trout, plenty of cover with thick beds of Ranunculus weed in places. The odd grayling may also be present.

Suggested Rod length 7 to 9 foot.

Please note that this is Aberdare Angling Association water and exclusivity cannot be guaranteed although it is very rarely fished by club members.
