Stronger wind than expected had a big impact on this very open accessible beat- not a take on nymphs and only saw one rising fish-put a crippled mayfly pattern over it and it was game on. Just getting the net out and away went the fish! Hung on until 7pm, but still blowy. Although the river is low, there is plenty of water to fish. Must try it on a calmer day.

River clear and normal level. Cloudy/ sunny. Fished around 10:00 to 19:00, 2 swims above and below biblins bridge both steep high banks, glad I took my rope. Slow fishing, 1 chub around 4lb and an eel in the morning on light ledger link with luncheon meat. Pellet and Feeder in the afternoon, lots of chubby bites and finally landed 1 fine barbel just under 10lb.
Canoes and paddle boards all very mutually respectful.

A decent day for once. The first barbel of the season after several blanks.

Arrived for an evening session at 5 and the first swim was occupied by a herd of cows, so moved on.

Wandered further downstream and had an entertaining few hours. A couple of eels in late afternoon followed by 3 barbel between 7-9 pounds and a chub. Missed a couple of fish too.

Just as I'd almost given up on The Wye after several quiet trips.

Only fished from 5-8am. Parking not obvious. Access to much of the stretch very limited. Some much is very overgrown and path maintenance is very poor over much of the stretch. All water is relatively, slow flowing so more suitable to bottom fishing. I was only interesting in trotting. One chub about 1.5lbs caught trotting, with sausage meat. I decided to book the adjacent Wyebank stretch for the rest of the day.

Five barbel to 6lbs and three chub to 3lbs caught trotting, with sausage meat. A beautiful stretch of streamy water. Lots of canoe activity, but not an issue with mutual consideration.

After a very promising start, (two Barbel hooked, one lost to a hook pull) by 6am it was tough going on static baits but plenty of hefty Chub to roving tactics with the float, mostly to bread.
