A quick note, it looks like Himalayan balsam has taken hold at the Rectory this will become a massive problem if it’s not eradicated.

Afternoon evening session. Torrential rain which made the banks do slippy a lot of pegs were too dangerous to fish even though they do have steps. Concentrated on bottom half. Lost a very big barbel at the net, then second 9lb 9oz others were small around 6lb mark. Chub just thrown in. Had to keep moving when the peg became too slippy, from ne moving around to a fresh one. All on feeder, groundbait abd mixed pellets and 8m hinders ellipse barrels on the hook.

Fishing:Salmon

On arrival to the river bank was greeted by the sight of 60-70 goosanders lifting of the water. River was at a perfect height for Whitney. I never saw a sign of any fish let alone salmon . so sad to see what's happened to this once great river.

Great day on the river. Ross reading was 0.800 and falling. Plenty of colour in the river. Started out sunny , then clouded over with showers. 4 barbel , 2 between 7-8lbs 1 at 9lbs and one just over 10lbs.
4 chub caught , all around 3-4lbs except 1 which was a PB at 6lb 1oz biggest chub I’ve caught by a long shot!
All caught on 14mm pellets, cheesy garlic, krill and spicy sausage………..didn’t seem to matter. Also used cheesy garlic groundbait.

4 Barbel, 4 Chub
