Good fun at Wyebank today. 12 Barbel between 2lb and 5lb and a couple of Chub on the feeder with 8mm pellet hookbaits. Really nice stretch with lots of fish and lovely scenery.

No fish caught but then I was following the rules which doesn't seem to be the thing to do on here. Loads fishing before 8am. One chap said he arrived at 6.30am but there were already 4 cars at the place he wanted to fish. Why use one rod when you can use multiple rods up to three seems the normal. Worms for bait, don't be silly pop up pòwerbait gets the trouts attention far better. Those using pop ups are not even subtle about it with discarded fluorescent balls all over the bank in places. No wonder it's hard to catch on the fly.

A dry day in more ways than one, the river was up by a few inches and reasonably coloured, I found only 3 pegs fishable one had a Hornets nest another looked ideal for a Salmon but sadly not my quarry, the Barbel. Method used, standard feeder filled with a pellet based groundbait hook bait was a swap between meaty boilie and old reliable Spam. I had intended to wade and trot but the fast flow defeated me. I can highly recommend "Stay by the Wye' some 500yards from the bridge, very comfortable accommodation complete with lockable tackle store.

Fished hard,Nothing coming off.,Nothing seen,Nothing caught. Two other anglers were fishing the same bank,We all blanked.I got the feeling that on its day it would fish well. Scenery is stunning with shifting light levels,Lovely spot to try.
