We really struggled here, the river had some extra water but was clear enough. Much better nymphing techniques than we were able to muster needed. Just two rises seen, despite a reasonable number of sedges in the air. Apart from a couple of promising tugs, no action in 5 hours in the waters. Wading stick essential along with the felt and studs boots.

Fished the upper end at water treatment works. Fish caught on boilies on longer hair rig in an attempt to target barbel and a oid Chun. Caught 4 barbel between 6 to 9lb, and 3 Chub with larger fish at 5lb.
Access to swims was limited as we didn't bring rope and spike which is a must for most if not all swims. Suggested swim on confirmation email was overgrown and not fishable, however we fish up stream of this as per the guidance and had an enjoyable day.

Fished spiders and gold heads on a 3wt Nymph rod with 3wt floating line, across fast water. Caught both at about 13:00 in overcast conditions with water at 1'10" On the nearest Gauge to Abernant. Very pleased since both were lifers for me. Both took a Partridge and Orange on the top dropper.

River high and coloured after heavy rain. Considerable debris, leaves and tree branches, coming downstream. Extremely difficult access with high himalyan balsam preventing upstream movement. I fished with weighted nymph and did manage to find some good water on beat 2. No rising fish. Blank return.

Literally caught 100s of Dace of the trot from multiple swims. And a good head of small chub. Shame that the majority of swims are inaccessible. Needs a lot of work.

Very blustery and rainy day but the fish were very obliging with 17 trout to hand and as many again either missed or plucks. Most fish were just sub surface but a few were tempted off the top with a Griffiths Gnat. Main fly of the day was Coch Y Bunndu with a dark brown wet with a bronze body, fished on a very slow retrieve. It was a battle with the weather but loved every minute of it, see you next season.
