One lovely large barbel that came in more chub-like than a fighting barbel and eight chub to 4lb 11oz.
Caught on feeder and GB with luncheon meat or boilie.

Weather was atrocious by sat it out in relative comfort. Health and safety was a priority as with few stakes and no ropes with a slippery bank it was risky in all but a few swims.

This is a lovely beat and will be returning for sure next year.

JD found the grayling. For myself, I had a long distance release and a couple of expressions of interest. Had a nice wood-fired pizza at the Griffin then 3 hours on the river.

Water had dropped about 1ft over night but was still difficult especially digging out a peg, the banks were very slippy!!!!
On a good note we had two clonking chub one small barbel and a brown trout, the trout was a shock because it took the meat...(unbelievable) All the fish were pristine....
Ledgered meat did it again over the long link swimfeeder pellet....
In all our 3 days were very enjoyable....

Very wet day but river looked good for a few bites with mild air and a tinge of colour in the water.

Two anglers in the woods, one in the cattle drink and one downstream. Rewarded with 7 Barbel, 35 Chub and one bonus Grayling between us.

Always nice fishing this beat and despite the heavy rain we had a good day.

Lovely looking stretch in great surroundings. Shame the fish were hard to come by. Due to heavy rain we were unable to move around as much as we would like to.

The hill at the start and long walk is very hard. Fortunately we were both fit and able otherwise this would be impossible to access.

Fishing passport should be more transparent with this in the description.

Didn't even attempt to fish. The banks were slippery the day before in the dry so in the heavy rain they would be treacherous. Therefore, I opted for a leisurely breakfast in the B&B instead!

Parked at the top and walked this time as last time got the car stuck. It was really useful to see the video of the swims and access. Not a long stretch and 3/4 swims accessible. First swim to the left didn’t produce on the feeder so switched to the middle swim and caught 6 chub to 3lb trotting meat and feeding pellets so a good day on a nice stretch. It rained a bit and steps down to swims got quite slippery so had to tread carefully. Would benefit from some stones or wood to make them more permanent.

As per MA from Cheshire 7/10/23 we decided not to (couldn't fish) as the bottom half of the beat was inaccessible as water levels had restricted access and those areas that may have been a possibility for a brave person just didn't look safe as bank and path to beat was very slippy / dangerous and with the weather as it was , a rising river and the forecast to be we took the sensible and safe option of not fishing which was a real shame (is this a wash off? I appreciate it wasn't totally flooded but sense prevailed on this occasion).
