River down quite a bit, still a good flow. As usual you could not get through the Chub to get to the Barbel. In saying that size of Chub was exceptional. Caught on any baits we tried.

In reply to J. A. from Rhayader's question, the huge fallen ash is still across the river and makes for a real obstacle to those of us in our dotage. I've also always wondered how one is expected to get from the weir to the next fishable water about 100m upstream? It's too deep to wade. I've always battled the shoulder high nettles and brambles and fence through the dilapidated factory site. Surely there's a better way?

Very hot weather.
Amazing setting drive right up in 4x4s no issue.
Fishing was like watching west ham united full of hope but a little crap.
Probably barbel there for the better fisherman!

3 Chub
