17 x grayling 8-14 inches, 7 x out of season trout 9-12 inches, trotting. Water still quite high and turbulent.

Fished the whole length of the beat to no avail. Tried heavy nymphs but no response and spiders with a nymph on the point but no takers. Very windy day which didn't help, my fishing partner blanked as,well.

1 pike 21lb 1oz caught on float legered smelt.

River at a nice height and running clear on a decent day weather wise. I fished most of the beat with a euro nymph set up but failed to connect with a fish of any description. I covered some really good looking water and so I was disappointed not to have a hook up, but an absorbing day on the water all the same.

Trotting maggot. Erwood gauge at 1.1m, which is probably the top end of what I would call fishable. Grayling came fairly quickly from just above the hut. Failed to find any fish in the other likely areas. Still - nice to get out after all the floods.

Fished hard for 5 hours on spiders and nymphs on both upper and lower beat but to no avail. Lovely day though.

A lovely stretch of river but yet again neither of us had a touch, we used meat and pellets, nothing, i think I'll wait for the summer now.

Perfect conditions, mild, sunny, river looked glorious. Sadly no fish. For information, the upstream track leading to the parking area is blocked by a pile of rubbish. Not sure if it's traveller deterrent or fly tipping. Anyway you can't drive down it.
