Arrived 14:00 to find river level 0.27 M at Hereford Bridge and clear with good flow of water after previous days rain. Upstream wind and plenty of leaves making life interesting.
Fished with 12` rod with floating line and medium sink polyleader and small double cascade courtesy of John Symonds
Fished most of the beat including Lady Alexander`s until rain set in about 17:00 when reluctantly packed in.
One of my favourite beats on the Wye and can’t wait to return

Sadly a bit of a tough day and whilst we all have these from time to time, it really was not helped by the fact the boat we hired to fish this large Llyn was full of water on arrival. There were two broken buckets with holes in them which left only a small bucket for bailing. Notwithstanding there was a small bucket, I had not expected and do not think I should be bailing a hired boat out before use. We were reimbursed but that's not the point. Disappointing.

Arrived about 10am water level quite low sun out. Fished the lower reach of this beat. Only fish seen were realy small hence the 3 others. 2 tiny trout and a minnow. The grayling took me and the klinkhammer by suprise just as the rain set in. The raun turned heavy so packed in at 5pm.

Stunning Autumnal day at our favourite beat and as usual it didn’t disappoint. All fish fell to pellet and meat, at the lower end of the stretch in the near bank faster water. Steps and ropes are a welcome addition and made the swims much safer to traverse down the bank, much appreciated. The wife takes the spoils for the best fish of the day, 2 stunning barbel, fin perfect and excellent condition. Can’t wait to get back in the spring.
