Fantastic day in beautiful surroundings my first session of the season due to the hot conditions. The Barbel I caught looked in good condition considering however did notice red spots on the belly of the biggest fish of about 9lb.

5 Barbel

Nice to see some water coming through. One of the chub was over 5lb others in the 2-3 range. Barbel around6lb.lovely day.

1 Barbel, 7 Chub

Quite a cool start with occasional breeze but soon calmed down and warmed up. Patchy rises all day so kept switching between nymph and dry fly. Two modest grayling to a size 18 Griffiths gnat, the rest on copper bead ptn run through the deeper pools. This beat continues to impress; great variety and always challenging.

Managed to catch eight nice chub on a bright and sunny day, though with a little bit of colour to the water.
Fish came steadily spread throughout the day, all in 3.5-4llb range, on pellet and meat.
Highlight of the day, a PB Chub of 6llb 5oz, taken fairly early in the session, certainly made up for missing out on a barbel.

Methods used for fishing - groundbait feeder pellet. Conditions dry and river level dropping.

3 Barbel, 4 Chub

Plenty of barbel up to 8lb plus a few chub to 4lb. Mainly caught on Hinder Barbel Bomb and their dumbbells wrapped in paste. River level was spot on.

lovely looking beat, but hard going today. fish came out on pellet and meat. some swims could do with a bit of maintenance.

so many chub, all came out on meat and pellet....a few barbel in between helped out...some of the chub over 5lb....great entertainment

5 Barbel, 90 Chub

A lovely looking beat with lots of options. Conditions looked good for a few barbel but unfortunately just couldn't get past the chub today, with most of the fish coming from the section below the wood.
