Fished Fownhope 5 . The first swim at the top of the section. Sunny day only 2 bites. 2 Barbel caught 2lb 8oz and 7lb 4oz. Both on 8mm Halibut pellet. Also hand fed a Robin all day a fantastic experience.
Also watched a few kingfishers

I did not catch much, just one eel, but what a stunning fishery. Thanks to Fishing Passport for providing access to this and to other Wye fisheries. Hope to come next year and try again.

An unusually difficult Autumn day - river up and looked perfect but only a few chub and an Eel . Lost two Barbel in the fast run at the bottom of the beat. Was an otter present when we arrived,

Frustrating day as a small rise coloured up the water for most of the day. Started to drop out late afternoon. The usual hotshots just didn't come up with the goods this time. Stunning scenery. Will be back.

Pretty sure I submitted this catch return late last year but seems it didn't go through, sorry. To recap, only fished about an hour when it was barely fishable with about 1ft visibility - no bites. Then an even bigger spate came down and it turned to chocolate; a dead sheep and a tree trunk went past soon after I got out, so that was good timing :D

Didn’t quite live up to expectations - more my poor river craft I expect. Fished 4 different swims including the bottom meadow, lucky stone and by the stile near the house. 1 Chub from each spot - best around 5lb.

Saw 5 different otters and a very big salmon leap out the water twice in front of me. A lovely beat but sadly no barbel today.

Lost a feeder and bent a few hooks on snags.

3 Chub
