River looked perfect when I arrived around 11 with nice colour. Struggled in the morning with nymph, maybe still a bit too much fresh water. Decent olive hatch going on and fish started to rise from 2. Managed another 4 on a soft hackle dry.

Couldn’t tempt a fish on dries during the lunchtime hatch so hoped spiders or nymphs would get me out of jail. A take on each but neither stuck. Saw a salmon roll down bottom end of beat which was nice to see.
