Slow start to the day but got three in the end

1 brown trout of around 1/2 pound caught on dry fly. Very little seen rising and no other bites.
Mainly cloudy and very gusty wind.

Tried Chanstone Court for the first time. It was a sunny morning with a gusty westerly wind but plenty of tree cover to kill the breeze. This is a narrow beat with 95% tree canopy covering it, which makes for challenging casting, although roll casting will get you to some fishy looking pools. The bad news is that the water level is so low that some of the runs are barely above ankle height and water running through the deeper pools is not moving fast enough to carry a wet fly through at any pace. No fish seen rising and although I did see a couple of fish, they were holding in less accessible spots. I did rise a small fish to a parachute adams second cast which got my hopes up. However, sadly, that was the last interest I had. I think this beat this is probably not worth a return visit until the water levels are up a bit.

Not even a bite moved sides after 2 hours.. left 3pm might just aswell gone over chucked my money in the lake gone home. Waste time

No fish but had great day

Two rods using worm on the bottom plus a bubble float now and again, started fishing 8am till 4pm no bites = no fish but my wife and I enjoyed the day.

Fishing was quite slow, cold downstream breeze which possibly limited hatches. Fished late into the evening, total time on the water about 4 hours. Picked off fish as they started to rise, although not a lot of action. Beautiful section of river which I have fished previously. All fish taken on dry fly.
