Interesting beat, the only one I know where you can fish 2 countries on the same day. Parked up in the first spot next to the abandoned caravan and as I suffer from cowaphobia decided to fish in the woods.
Glad I did! A decent morning at the top end resulted in 2 barbel (one at 10.4) before having a Pot Noodle and moving down a peg. A mad afternoon session resulted in 9 more barbel and pike who snatched my bunch of maggots as I wound in. Most barbel fell to Robin Red pellets, a few to maggots.
That caravan is spooky in the dark...

First time on the Creel. Pleasant stretch of river, high banks with limited number of swims where you can get to the waters edge. Worked quite hard at it with limited returns, but overall an enjoyable day

Fished 5 swims, mainly further down the beat, using a cage feeder and meat or pellet on the hook. The largest chub was 5lb 5oz. There was one baby barbel around 2lb which was good to see. The others came throughout the afternoon, with 1 over 5lb, 3 over 6lb, 3 over 7lb, and the largest were 8lb 2oz and 9lb 4oz. Thought I'd bagged my first double but will have to return. A real red letter day - loved it, even having to wade in and save one fish that got wrapped round a large branch floating downstream.

Beat:The Rectory Fishery
Fishing:Member Rod
No. of Anglers:1
River at 1’6 on the Llanstephan gauge and carrying some colour.
A couple of OOS trout to a cascade in Glanwye in the morning and a cock salmon, around 14lb from the Island stream mid afternoon. The fish came to a home tied conehead shrimp pattern on a S2/S3 tip, and was in very good condition. Didn’t see the net and swam off strongly.

What can I say for our first visit to Lower Symonds Yat??...... stunning venue to blank at!! Not so much as a sniff!!
Spent most of the day just downstream of the Biblins bridge trotting meat as so much Autumnal debris made fishing the feeder almost impossible. This method worked for us on other stretches of the Wye, I guess today we just didn't land on fish despite several moves.
